To help navigate the complicated world of sustainability we have devised a pillar of values which guide us through our manufacturing process and form the foundation to our sustainability commitment.

These pillars are CLEAN. CONSCIOUS. CIRCULAR

CLEAN

Our skincare is safe for people and the planet. We use plant-based ingredients for active results and ensure that our skincare is free from ingredients that are known allergens or irritants. Just like eating clean rejects the idea of processed foods and instead leans towards nourishing, plant-based produce, the same is true for clean skin care. Our simple and truthful ingredients are biodegradable and free from palm oil.

CONSCIOUS

We are conscious of the impact even small brands can have on the environment and this is how we are dedicated to manufacturing responsibly:

LOCAL

We manufacturer all of our products in-house in our studio in the Cotswolds.
We produce stock 'on demand' so customers will always get freshly made products and this negates risk of stock being over-produced. By being self-reliant in our process we also avoid the need to employ other handlers in the supply chain as large scale businesses must do. We oversee every step of the process from sourcing the ingredients to sending out your skincare which means you get a more personal service and it's better for the environment too and we produce lower carbon emissions. You should also know that we do a little happy dance every time an order comes in because your business means the world to us and our planet.

We source ingredients produced in the UK first, if we can't source it here we source from Europe, if we can't source from Europe then we question if the ingredient is really needed and if, after this we decide it is needed then we work with suppliers to find it as close to home as possible.

FAIR TRADE, ORGANIC AND ETHICAL

When sourcing ingredients we will always choose fair trade and organic ingredients as a priority.

Organic crops have to follow strict guidelines on how they are grown and have to be produced in a way that protects the land and wildlife. They do not use pesticides and this reduces the grey water that is washed into the soil, all-in-all a much better option for the environment.

Fair trade is based on fairness so that producers earn secure and sustainable livelihoods. It sets social, economic and environmental standards for the companies and farmers involved in the supply chain.

SUPPORTING CHARITIES

We know just how precious the earths resources are and that our use of them isn't without some impact, we all rely on the worlds health to continue to grow the resources that we use in our daily lives and we want to make sure that our planet has all it needs to survive and thrive so we give back to the charities that we believe will support our cause.

We have chosen to support The Wildlife Trust, The Butterfly Conservation Trust, The Bumblebee Conservation Trust and Plantlife. Our founder has worked with all of these charities and couldn't be happier to give back and support the work they continue to do to protect our precious planet.

PLANTING TREES

"What the world needs now, is love sweet love" Yes, we all know the song and it couldn't be more true today than it was in 1965 when it was first released. But what the world also needs is trees. We love trees and have teamed up with Ecologi so that each time you buy from us you plant a tree. This awesome charity is doing some brilliant work all over the world and we're super excited to be part of that. To learn more about their work click HERE

CIRCULAR

Currently the beauty industry produces over 100 billion units of packaging a year, which, according to The British Beauty Council 95% of it is thrown away, 14% of which makes it to the recycling plant and only 9% actually being recycled. This whopping amount is contributing to the total of 300 million tonnes of plastic waste a year, a figure stated by The World Resources Institute.
These are seriously scary figures.

A circular economy aims to avoid the 'make-take-waste' system of manufacturing and instead focuses on avoiding waste and pollution as a first port of call.

But being circular isn't just about waste. In order to be fully circular we all need to shift our way of thinking.
As manufacturers
we have the responsibility to offer versions of products that have been produced in more sustainable way, in packaging which can be recycled or reused or ultimately in zero packaging.
As consumers you have the responsibility to purchase these products over other, less-considered ones.

Our commitment to being circular is met by the following manufacturing methods

ZERO WASTE

Have you noticed that our products don't come in outer boxes? Well this is because we are committed to being zero waste and it is one of our strategies to avoid the use of resources which ultimately end up in recycling or landfill.

To comply with current laws and legislation we must provide customers with information about products. Instead of boxes we have created information cards that use the least amount of resources possible. Any paper or card we use is upcycled from 100% agricultural waste. The producer of this incredible paper works with farmers in countries that do not have access to the machinery and resources which remove the remains of crops after the growing season and so in the past they would have burnt the crop to dispose of the waste material but now these valuable leaves and stems are now collected, processed and turned into paper and card. The resulting product has half of the environmental footprint of FSC paper and a third less than recycled paper alone.

Our glass bottles are made from at least 40% post-consumer glass, the pipettes are made from fully recyclable plastic and glass and can be recycled easily in normal household collections but the silicone bulb cannot be recycled. You can return the bulbs to us and we will recycle them through Terracycle.

REFILLS

.....blah blah blah....

BUY LESS, BUT BETTER

Consume less. The circular economy focuses on better use of natural resources, and the simple fact is that many of us consume far too much.

Consuming "better" can also mean avoiding purchasing altogether

We know that over consumption is a massive problem (30% of all waste is accredited to the beauty industry!) and if we want to save our planet then we all need to consume less.

UPCYCLED INGREDIENTS

By using upcycled ingredients we are diverting waste from landfill, therefore reducung CO2 emissions and helping to create a more circular economy. Each product has a percentage of upcycled ingredients listed on the label so you can see how sustainable it is.

BETH, FOUNDER OF YEARTH

DO MORE WITH LESS

"What I hope for the most is that people will just stop and take check of their lives and ask themselves the question 'could I do more for the planet? Or should that question actually be 'how can I do less?'
What if we all made a conscious decision to consume less because after all, over-consumption is one of biggest environmental impacts we have. Perhaps then we might start to see the change that is needed for the health of the planet and ourselves.
I don't want you to buy my from my brand If you've already got products on your shelf. Wait a while and come back to me when you're in need of a new product, and then I'll be truly grateful that you chose to support sustainable skincare in a sustainable way’
